Not much of an update
Less an update than a space-filler.
This is my version of the Gentleman's Stockings, made from yarn pillaged from two thrift-store sweaters. As you can see it's the very same photo I used the last time I showed them way back in November; I'd decided there was no point in retaking the pictures, considering I've done maybe three more rows since then.
Looky, they're just like the engraving! So far I haven't had to make any changes to the pattern. The size 0's I'm using correspond to the 14's the pattern calls for and I've tried on what I've knitted and they fit pretty nicely. I'll just have to keep an eye out to make sure the length is right before I start the heel. I may actually be the height of the average Victorian dude so I wouldn't be surprized if I followed the pattern right down to the toe with nary a change.
One day they'll grow up and be real, live kneesocks and I can wear them out in the street, much to the horror of everyone in Stinktown.
