Ribbed, For Her Pleasure
My next Vintage KnitALong project is a 1942 Ribbed Blouse. So far I've done about 5 1/2-6 inches. I'm using a shiny cotton/rayon blend yarn with a slightly nubby texture that I got in a 3 lb cone off eBay. The weight and drape is a lot like silk yarn. I don't think I'll have to make any changes to the pattern for my size except I'll knit it a little longer from armhole to waist. The yarn I'm using won't be as clingy as wool and it'll hang a bit better.
There was no way in hell I would be fooling with anything wool in this heat. We've got almost an entire week of temps over 100 degrees to look foreward to. I've started hearing about blackouts in some parts of the state so I'm fully expecting to be sitting, and sweating, in the dark sometime this week. Just like those poor slobs in California.
My apartment is swarming with fruit flies, which I supect came in with the bags of veg I got from my parents' garden and they keep landing on my sweaty, sweaty arms. I'm sitting at the computer trying to type while I windmill my arms at nasty flying things so they won't take a nosedive into my glass of ice water.
So I'm cranky.
