Free Vintage Pattern #11

This pattern sort of goes along with yesterday's completely unnecessary stocking entry.
Crochet Garters
Belding's Book of Silk Embroidery, Knitting, & Crochet
Pattern mid-1920's.
Pretty lousy scan but when people give you copies of copies of copies it's kinda hard to fix them up.
I keep threatening to make these. I suppose you could subsitute a few of strands of embroidery floss if you can't find silk in the right colors. Lavender elastic is a little harder to find. I've only bought white and black around here in the Four Corners of Hell where the Vintage Stitch-O-Rama calls home. I don't know if I'd go to as much trouble with the flowers. That would depend on how dorky a mood I'm in.

I'm looking for a pattern for a button down sweater vest for a child (boy). Have you seen one in your vintage patterns? I have a little nephew who tells me if I knit him a sweater vest, he won't have to wear a suit jacket to church! This is my cute little nephew that prays only in emergencies!
Button down 1940's-50's style vests?
I hadn't intended on posting kid's patterns because I don't have any of the little monsters but I've got several patts like that.
Sure, I could post a couple, probably in a couple days. Little kids don't need to be in suit jackets!
