Free Vintage Pattern #1

Rose camisole yoke, 1919. Click on image for larger view. I am using a size 12 steel crochet hook and vintage mercerised cotton crochet thread that appears to be the same gauge as buttonhole twist or heavy-duty sewing thread. Crochet tightly (I wind thread twice around left ring finger to hold it tight while I work) or else it'll look sloppy. Filet crochet squares should be 10 rows and 8 squares per inch. Gaaah! Comment added later: I neglected to say it was filet crochet, using 4 double crochets for solid squares and one dc, 2 chains, and one dc for the open spaces. Some filet crochet patterns use treble crochets, some have more chains.

Another comment added much, much later: Photo of finished camisole here.
