Punk Rock Gift Exchange Questionnaire

OK, Secret Person, prepare to be either greatly annoyed or just plain confused. Maybe sleepy. I tend to make people really sleepy.

1) How long have you been spinning/Knitting/Crocheting? Knitting for 26 years, crocheting 28 years, spinning 12 years.
2) Do you consider yourself a beginner, novice, or experienced Yarn Artist? Experienced, or perhaps obsessively psychotic.
3) What type of fibers have you worked with? Wool, cotton, silk, yak, cashmere, quviut, hemp, nylon, cat, dog, goat, uhhh, what's left?
4) What types are you dying to try? Soy silk, InGeo, Paco-vicuña, maybe that stuff recycled from old plastic soda bottles.
5) Are you allergic to anything, (Fibers, Food, Smells that make you want to puke, etc.)? No allergies but cheap perfumes like Wind Song make me hurl, strong musk is bad. I absolutely hate baby powder.
6) Do you have any Disorders, ex: Diabetes? Nope.
7) What is your Favorite Time/Style period, ex: Romatic, Grecian,Metal, Goth,etc? Music: 70's-early 80's punk, 80's goth, 1940's clothes & music, late Victorian (bustle-era) clothing.
8) What fibers do you dislike? Polyester double-knit, really cheap-ass acrylic yarns.
9) Name some of your favorite Artist, Movie wise, Television if you watch it. Bugger. Dead movie guys are OK? Umm, Orson Welles, Hans Conried, Vincent Price. So I got a thing for old dead movie/radio guys. You gonna make something of it? Television: Babylon 5, Dr. Who, the first two Star Treks, Venture Bros, Invader Zim, MST3K, Black Adder.
10) Whos your favorite Character ex: Jack or Cpt Jack? Jack, dammit. No, Dr. Orpheus. He's sooooo Vincent Price. Invader Zim, or anything Jhonen Vasquez done did like Squee. Bender. I love me some Bender. He's such a robotic ass.
11) Do you prefer natural colored fibers, or handpainted/dyed fiber? I like both, so long as no pastels are involved.
12) What are you favorite colors? Burgundy, deep green, black, garnet red.
13) What colors do you dislike? Pink, blue, pale and wimpy colors, neons.
14) What projects are you currently working on? Heh! What am I not working on? Long gloves for MagKnits, Corset Pullover, 1940's top, lace stockings, handspun 1940's undies, crocheted jewery thingy, crocheted 1919 corset-cover yoke. UFO's are taking over!!!
15) Do you have a wishlist? Iva Rose's Weldon's Jumpers in Knitting & Crochet and Pretty Undies to Knit. Royal Society Crochet Book No. 17 that Iva Rose doesn't have a copy of.
16) Do you have any other favorite hobbies? Collecting vintage patterns (knitting, crocheting, sewing), creepy old photographs, vintage clothing.
17) When your birthday? May 3. No horoscopical mumbo-jumbo please.
18) What is your favorite food, candy, scents that you love!! Etc.? Cheese, dark chocolate, GothRosary and Black Phoenix's scents.
19) Are you pierced at all? Any tattoos? Can you/would you wear jewelry that isn't real? Yes dozens, and yes lots. I have no metal allergies so I can and do wear stuff that isn't real.
20) What do you like Culturally, ex: Celtic, African, Devil Worshiping, Kidding!? Medieval artwork, Celtic. I like the look of the New Orleans voodoo stuff. Egyptian is cool too.
21) What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? An old metal film canister. Really. They're all ruthlessly dumped in one of those tall metal things that held like 20 reels of film. Makes a lot of noise if I'm rummaging around in there late at night looking for a specific needle.
22) What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) Music? Check my Blogger profile for big stupid list. I can do MP3s.
23) What's your favorite season and why? Fall. Great colors and smells and you can finally start wearing all those sweaters you knitted during the summer.
24) What season do you abhor? Summer sucks total ass. It gets really humid here and I hate to sweat.
25) How about Sports, any that you just cant get enough of or do they make you throw up in your mouth just a little? I'm allergic to sports.
26) What is your family situation Do you live alone? Alone, with a giant invisible toad, who I don't knit for.
27) Do you have any pets? One cat and the giant invisible toad. I don't seem to knit for the cat either.
28) Do you like handmade gifts? Yes!
29) What's your favorite thing to make, knit/crochet or other craft wise? Knit: stockings, gloves, tops. Crochet vintage undies. Sewing corsets & other vintage clothing.
30) Do you prefer straight or circular needles? I hate circs with a passion.
31) Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? Yarn winder yes, swift no. A swift is on my "must-have" list.
32) Tell us how you learned to knit/crochet? I learned crochet from my mother and I learned how to knit from a library book.
33) Do you enjoy getting helpful hints from others or does it just piss you off? Hint away! I can always learn something new.
34) How old is your oldest UFO? 1919 crochet corset-cover that I've been working on for maybe two years. Anything older than that left at the bottom of the pile gets compressed into coal.
35) Is there anything that you collect? Vintage patterns, clothing, and photographs. Vinyl albums, books, dust.
36) Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? Royal Society Crochet Book No. 17--even a bad Xerox copy. There's a Deco scarab pattern in there that looks like a rocketship. I've been looking for it for five years. Ancient undies patterns. I can always make use of those.
37) What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have if any? None right now but I usually subscribe to Spin-Off.
38) Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? Victorian netting.
39) Do you enjoy knitting socks? How big are yer boats (feet)? Socks rule. US size 10.
