Knickerless!

Despite the fact that it has been at least 103 degrees since Monday, I've been thinking about knitting some vintage woolly undies. I know I haven't finished the 1940's top yet, or the swatch for Magknits, or the really über-snazzy socks that woke me up last night just shrieking for me to write down their pattern. Yes, socks wake me up at night screaming. I'm sure you'd all like to delve into the troubling aspects of my nightlife, but I'm just going to say it all somehow involves shouting socks.

Ahem.

Apparently I've been running around without any vintage knitted undies. What the hell is wrong with me? I've got cotton, rayon, and silk vintage undies, but no knitted ones. Don't I have any shame? Apparently not, so here are five pattern links to knitted ladies' knitted undies.

WW2 Vest
1944 Vest & Knickers
1946 Vest & Knickers
Dainty Knickers
Lace Vest & Panties

The last two patterns don't have a year but if they're not 1940's then somebody's been looking awful close at the patterns from that era and making some damn good reproductions.

Needless to say those Dainty Knickers (hmmm, done in handspun black silk?) are just screaming "Severina." I won't tell you what those socks have been screaming. That's private.
