Free Vintage Pattern #14

I know I've been slack with the free patterns, so keeping with the dead guy theme, we have here some Gothic Altar Lace. I'm much too lazy to crochet this despite it having an innard wrapped in barbed wire. If the Southern Baptists had slapped innards & barbed wire imagery all over everything I wouldn't have slept through Sunday School. Dammit. Seriously, if we had had paintings of saints stuck all over with arrows or presenting their eyeballs on a plate I might have paid more attention.

In 1985 some goth guy would have slapped you silly for a couple yards of this stuff, though I suppose nowadays this just wouldn't be Industrial enough. I guess. So besides being 1950's vintage, it's 1980's retro. Yeah, retro!

Yes, I do remember a couple guys lurking around the clubs done up in full-on alterboy getups in the 80s. They were hot!

Did I say that out loud?

Click on pictures for a larger, easier-to-print-and-read chart. Starting at "A" on the chart below, ch 167. Double crochet in the 4th chain from hook, then follow chart. There's bits where you have to increase and decrease blocks and this post has instructions on how to do that stuff.
